Cellulite is not only a mere aesthetic problem, but also an illness which compromises one’s microcirculation and different cells thereby producing alterations in their intracellular liquid. By implicating both the skin as well as the subcutaneous cell tissue, this condition has been named Fibro Sclerosing Edematous Paniculopathy
The appearance of this pathology is originated or precipitated by such diverse factors as: genetic origin, constitucional makeup, endocrinology, diet, sedentarism and pregnancy.

Symptoms

The symptoms which this illness may provoke at the local level are: the appearance of  heaviness in the legs, pain, cramps, the presence of lumps or rough, pocked skin also known as orange-peel skin,  violet colored stretchmarks, increase in skin thickness, all associated with emotional disturbances, irritability, fatigue and low self esteem.

Procedure

The objective of the procedure is to reduce the impact of the cellulite in all its manifestations thereby impeding and avoiding the appearance of stretchmarks and local adipose tissue, while taking care of health and prioritizing the aesthetic.
Above all, in order to achieve the desired results, we must emphasize a prudent nutritional balance coordinated with physical activities as an indispensable complement to the treatment.

Treatments

As regards the medical treatment, there exists an interesting array of possibilities which can be employed in combination.

Physical Methods

Such as the venolymphatic drainage massage or, contractores, ultrasound (U.S.), etc.

Mesotherapy

Is the inoculation of  conventional or homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals and amino acids in the specific place where the cellulite is located in order to interrupt the pathological process of the illness and at the same time improve and restore the metabolic actions at cellular, histological and vascular level. The treatment consists of  the  injecting of  small quantities of medicine into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin) with very thin needles. These corrections do not require internment, general anaesthesia or recovery time and are practically without any pain.
And finally, SURGERY, which has its precise indications and includes techniques such as: liposculpture or liposuction (extraction by sucking out  the cellulite fatty tissue from larger areas). When the process is extremely advanced and deforming, dermolipectomy is necessary (extirpation of the cellulite adipose mass in block together with the skin).
